Looking for tips to plan a college road trip tour? Well, my son Theo is a sophomore in high school, and I can't believe it's already time to start looking at colleges! He changes his mind every day on what he wants to major in. It's okay, he's got time.
Planning a College Road Trip Tour
These tours are also a great excuse for a family vacation. We have always been a traveling family, and I know that we've only got a couple more years until the concept of family vacations will be more difficult.
A college tour doesn't have to just be about the school - sure, you want to know if it's a good fit academically, socially, and financially.
What to Do on a College Tour Trip
Working in the travel industry, I know that there's so much more to a place. As we've begun setting up our trips, we're making sure to explore local restaurants, historical sites, cultural events, and outdoor activities into our plans. And since I know I'll be that mom who visits her kid all the time, I'm making sure that there is a fun B&B near campus as well!
A few years ago a client approached me and said her daughter really wanted to go to college in Europe, and could I please help them put something together? We put together a fabulous trip through Dublin, Scotland, and England, visiting four different universities while also exploring such places as St Patrick's Cathedral, the penguins of Dundee, the ruins of St Andrews, and the London Eye. Both my client and her daughter felt so much more comfortable about her matriculating abroad after being able to enjoy these cities together first.

Thank you for helping with our “College Road Trip” through Europe! From planes, trains, and buses to hotels to sightseeing you were there the whole time. We could never have done it on our own. Thank you for helping my daughter find her HAPPY PLACE!
